Videos in Events & Ads on pages
Published in Videos acoustic music, google ads, Event Videos, Ads by keithgriffis | Comment (0)Things are heating up here and we are listening to our users to find the best ways to support out habit and to increase the experience on the site.
Videos in the Event Listings
We recently started adding videos to our events on the calendar. This is to give people a taste of the artists without leaving the site. This has been incredibly well received. We had contemplated putting song clips, but realized that video gives people more of an idea of the experience. Tell us how you like it!

Hi NYAF fans,
We have been hard at work implementing a lot of new features. One such feature is the ability to pull (almost automatically) events from a few local calendars for specific artists. As we find artists we love you will see them appear on the calendar when thay have local shows in the Boston and New England Area.
Free Artist Cross Promotion! Event Calendar!
Published in Not Your Average Folk by keithgriffis | Comment (0)As everyone knows, Not Your Average Folk is trying hard to promote musicians and bring the community together. One way we want to do this is by having musicians and venues Cross Promoting eachother.
We all know that the successful artists are those that come together and help eachother out, right? You all want to reach new fans and have more people at your shows right?
NYAF will be creating monthly show calendars and distributing them to artists & Venues who want to be a part of it.
How it works:
1. Email: Editor@NotYourAverageFolk.com with the Subject: Monthly Calendar Program
2. Register at NotYourAverageFolk.com and add your shows to the concert calendar (may already be there - This will be more automated in the coming weeks).
You will receive a PDF file of an 8.5x11 Flyer with the NYAF Calendar on it. Print out a minimum of 100 and pass them out at shows and leave them to be taken on your merch table.
3. The more you pass out, the more others will pass out and the more people will come to eachother's shows.
4. Our staff will be stopping by your shows and confirming that you are distributing them. If you are found to not be distributing them, you will be removed from the calendar and will not benefit from the mutual distribution.
I look forward to helping all of you promote yourselves and reach new fans. Let's make the Boston music community stronger!

The Launch of Not Your Average Folk 2.0
Published in Untagged by keithgriffis | Comment (0)So as most of you know, I took a long hiatus from writing at NotYourAverageFolk.com. After a lot of soul searching we are back with the new and improved site. The layout and features will be evolving over the next few months.
The goal is still the same: "Bring together the Boston Folk community for fans and artists."
